Absolutely everything was done right and better.
All of he components were well thought out and executed; reasonable entry fees, wonderful volunteers (including
the lady who cut up all those pineapples), terrific & unique shirts, more candy than my grandkids got at Halloween, enough port-a-johns, a great staging/finish area and
quick results. I even came to realize that the great part
about the course was that it was always changing. "

Walking To City Island From The Crowne Plaza

It is 1/2 mile from the Crowne Plaza to City Island. We recommend taking the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge, which is one block north of the Market Street Bridge. This will make finding marathon activities on City Island much easier.

Closure of Market St. Bridge For Beginning of Race:

All lanes from the East Shore (Downtown Harrisburg) to City Island on the Market Street Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic for the start of the Marathon from approximately 8:20 AM to 8:40 AM.  All participants make sure you are on City Island by 8:10 AM to be ready for the start of the race.  The best location for spectators to see the beginning of the race is on the east, Downtown, side of the Market Street Bridge.
