We encourage all friends, family, and marathon enthusiasts to use the following information to go to locations along the course and cheer for our amazing marathon runners, walkers, and relay teams.
Beginning of the Race
The best vantage point to see the beginning of the Marathon is on the east, Downtown Harrisburg, side of the Market Street bridge, NOT City Island. Runners start the race ON the bridge and run toward Downtown Harrisburg.

Please consider driving to the HACC / Industrial Road area. You can see runners 4 different times in this area. They TRULY need your support in this half-way section. HACC parking lots are perfect for fun and lots of noise making!

Additional Locations
Front Street
Front St. is a one-way street southbound from Division St. It becomes two-way north of Division St.
Paralleling Front St. is Second St., running one-way north. Second St. leads into North Front at Division St. Above Division St. Second St. continues into the northern Harrisburg neighborhoods where marathoners runs from miles 11 through 13 and again miles 20 through 22.
Between Front and Second St. s there are many side streets ( watch for one-way signs) where you can park to walk to the River Front. You can also take advantage of closed businesses along North Front St., and park in their lots located in front of their buildings.
River Front Park (along Front Street)
Standing anywhere along River Front Park (link to Course Map) you will be able to view the participants, either on upper or lower River Front at different miles/times during the race. For instance, the areas between the Market St bridge and Walnut St bridge offer you views at the start of the race, and also miles 2 and 8. Further north between Maclay St. and Vaughn St. you will be able to catch the participants between miles 9 and 11 , and on the way back miles 23 thru 25.
PennDOT Building
Another popular spot, where you will find plenty of cheering room at miles 3 and 5, is the grassy area next to the PennDot building. You can access this area from South Front St., or from Cameron St., via Sycamore St. At times during the race vehicular traffic to the PennDot Building is blocked. But, you can walk from Cameron St.
Northern Harrisburg Neighborhoods
The northern Harrisburg neighborhoods from Vaughn to Estherton Streets offer side street parking and plenty of sidewalk space from miles 11 thru 13 and again miles 21 thru 23.
Be Respectful
Please respect the rights of other motorists and residents on Race Day, they may be frustrated by spectators and runners. You are moving slowly on the roads they are accustomed to driving on, normally.
